Most powerful time prophecy fulfilled in the 20th century. Ezekiel foretold how long the
servitude of the nation of Israel and Jerusalem would last under the Gentiles. This time
period referenced in other scriptures by the term 'time of iniquity (for example ezek 35:5). This time covers
Ezekiel's 2,520 additional years of punishment that was added to Jeremiah's 70 years
(called 'time of exile') which began in 606 B.C during the reign of Nebchadezzar.
The servitude of the Jews without a nation of their own ended on May 14, 1948 A.D. in the
establishment of the nation of Israel. Desolation of Jerusalem in 587 A.D. to 1967 A.D.
when it was recaptured by the Israelies from Gentile control adds up to the same 'time of iniquity'
prophesized by Jermiah and Ezekiel. |
Ezekiel 4 - 2520 years of worldwide dispersion
1 Thou also, son of man, take
thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and portray upon it the city, even Jerusalem:
2 And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against
it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.
3 Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between
thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt
lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.
Ezekiel is prophesying the coming siege of
Jerusalem and how it will be done by the Babylonians. This is the same siege that resulted
in the 70 year exile for the Jews prophesied by Jeremiah (see
70 year exile above). While Jeremiah prophesied the length of
the exile both Daniel and Ezekiel followed the history of the Jews that returned after the
70 years (see Daniel
9 - 70 weeks).
God tells Ezekiel to act out message. He took a piece of tile and scratched a map of
the city of Jerusalem on the tile.
A tile brick was a clay tablet about 14 X 18 inches on which was written business or
political matters.
Ezekiel also portrayed a miniature watchtower, a ramp, battering rams, and a miniature
army.
The iron pan between Ezekiel and this tile symbolized the iron will of God that would
punish His people. No pleading or prayers could stop the destruction of Jerusalem. The
iron pan represents the hardship of divine judgment.
Ezekiel 4:4-6
4 Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of
Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt
bear their iniquity.
5 For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the
days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of
Israel.
6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear
the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.
Ezekiel layed on his left side 390 days. This represent the number of years required to
pay for the sins of the people in the northern Kingdom of Israel. From the division of the
nation after Solomon in 975 B.C. until the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 B.C. covers a
390 years of idolatry.
Ezekiel layed on his right side 40 days. This represented number of years required to pay
for the sins of the people in the southern Kingdom of Judah to be equal to 40 years. From
627 BC to 588 BC represents Jeremiah's prophetic ministry covering the time period of
Jeremiah's prophetic ministry from 13th year of King Josiah to the fall of King Zedkiah.
Ezekiel was to make his arm bare (verse 7). This is a Biblical symbol of God's judgment. It is like a man rolling up
his sleeves to work.
The sins of the northern Kingdom of Israel were greater than the southern Kingdom
because it was the northern Kingdom with it's 10 tribes that split the nation into two.
All the kings of the northern Kingdom called the Kingdom of Israel were evil Kings
and abandoned God.
Adding 390 years for the northern Kingdom of Israel plus 40 years for southern Kingdom of Judah = 430 years (390 + 40 = 430).
Jeremiah 25:9-12
9 Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the
Lord, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this
land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and
will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual
desolation's.
10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice
of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light
of the candle.
11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall
serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the
king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity, and the land of the
Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolation's.
JERIMIAH 25:11 Tells us the length of
the Babylonian captivity was 70 years. These 70 years were a partial payment toward the
total 430 years. Therefore, if we subtract those 70 years from the total 430 years we have
left a balance of 360 years (430 - 70 = 360) left to be paid.
Leviticus 26 -
Blessings and curses
18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish
you seven times more for your sins.
21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven
times more plagues upon you according to your sins.
24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for
your sins.
28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you
seven times for your sins.
29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye
eat.
30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcasses
upon the carcasses of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
31 And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I
will not smell the savoir of your sweet odours.
32 And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall
be astonished at it.
33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after
you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
34 Then shall the land enjoy her Sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your
enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her Sabbaths.
35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your Sabbaths,
when ye dwelt upon it.
36 And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in
the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase
them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none
pursueth.
37 And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth:
and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
38 And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands;
and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with
them.
46 These are the statutes and judgments
and laws, which the Lord made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the
hand of Moses.
In Lev 26:18,21,24,28 God said He would punish Israel 7 times more for their sins. Balance of the remaining 360 years was to be multiplied by 7.
360 years X 7 = 2,520 years all 12 tribes would be scattered around the world without being an independent nation and under Gentile servitude.
The servitude of the nation must last Jerimiah's 70 years plus
the additional 2,250 years. Therefore, Israel would serve the Babylonian Empire for 70
years after which many of the 12 tribes of Israel remained among foreign nations. The
dispersion today still continues but will end in the prophecies of the mass return, but
the servitude 'time of iniquity' prophesized by Jeremiah and Ezekiel ended exactly on time
on May 14,1948 A.D.
To understand how Jermiah's 70 years and Ezekiel's additional 2,520 years are calculated
to arrive at May 14, 1948 A.D.
The Jews did not use a solar calendar as we do today, they used instead a lunar calendar,
as indicated in Genesis 1:14 and Psalm
104:19. This is very important to understand and accept as the basis of understands God's
set times.
Ge 1:14
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to
divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days,
and years:
Psa 104:19
He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
The length of the lunar month can be determined from Genesis 7,8-
Gen 7:11 In the
six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month,
the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven
were opened.
Gen 7:24 And the
waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
Gen 8:4 And the ark rested in the seventh month,
on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
Note that the there were exactly 5 months from the point where the flood began and
the ark came to rest on Ararat, and that this was a period of 150 days. This demonstrates
that the lunar calendar set forth in the Bible has a 30 day month, therefore the year is
counted as 360 days. (This 360 day lunar year also accounts for the
reason that there are 360 degrees in the compass).
The total number of days Ezekiel's 430 years equals: First 70 years = 70 x 360=25200 days |
+ balance (360 yrs x 7 x 360 days) = 907200 days |
Total days of Gentile servitude not being a nation is 25200 + 907200 = 932400 days |
We know for a fact the servitude of Jews to the Gentiles
without having a nation ended May 14,1948. We can calulate easily 932400 days backwards to
arrive at when Gentile servitude began and does this agree with facts that we know.
There was no 0 year so from 1 A.D. to Jan 1, 1948 completes 1947 solar years x
365.25 (solar days in a year) = 711141.74 days + .25 of a
solar year =136 days totaling 711277.74 A.D. days. To this we have to add Jan 1,
1948 A.D. to May 14, 1948 = 136 days. Total time for A.D. period then is 711277.74 + 136 =
711414 rounded.
To calulate B.C. time we take the 932400 days calulated above and subtract the A.D. days
of 711414 = 220986 B.C. days. 220986 B.C. days divided by 365.25=605.27 B.C. years.
Since there was no 0 year we count backwards from Jan 1, A.D. to Jan 1, B.C. as 1 year
therefore to 605 B.C completes 605 years. To this we add .27 of 365.25 which equals 98.6
days additional days would bring us to be around March 9, 605 B.C..
I believe this is as close as we can get the day. Most historians and history books have
servitude of Jews to Gentile control without their own nation started in 605 B.C. starting
with the first invasion and deportation of Jews to Babylon. What an amazing prophecy
by Jeremiah and Ezekiel fulfilled I believe to the day.
NOW WE WILL CONSIDER THE IDEA OF THE DESOLATIONS
ON JERUSALEM:
DANIEL 9:2 TELLS US THE DESOLATIONS ON THE CITY OF JERUSALEM WOULD LAST FOR 70
YEARS. TO THIS 70 YEARS WE ADD THE ADDITIONAL PUNISHMENT OF 2,520 YEARS. THE DESOLATIONS
ON JERUSALEM ENDED ON JUNE 7, 1967 IN THE 6-DAY WAR THAT PUT THE CITY OF JERUSALEM UNDER
THE CONTROL OF THE NATION OF ISRAEL.
Daniel 9:1,2
In the first year of Darius the son of
Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;
2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years,
whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish
seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
The "desolations of Jerusalem"
began with the annihilation of the city of Jerusalem and the Solomon's Temple in 587 B.C.
According to Jeremiah it was punishment for not yielding to the "Servitude of the
Nation" which began in 606 B.C., with the first siege of Nebuchandnezzar. See Jeremiah 27:6,8,11; 38:17-21. Cf. Jeremiah 29:10, Daniel 9:2
2 "In the first year
of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of years specified by the word
of the Lord through Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the
desolations of Jerusalem."
Daniel 9:24
"Seventy weeks are determined For your people {Israel} and for your holy city {Jerusalem},"
Since two separate prophecies are talked about here can we apply the same calculations
used for the "Servitude of the Nation" on the
"Desolations of Jerusalem"? In Ezekiel 4:1-7 the prophecy is not only for the "Servitude of the Nation" but also for the "Desolations of Jerusalem."
Recapture of Jerusalem by Israel took place June 7 1967 A.D.
To calculate A.D. number of days. Since there was no year 0 from 1 A.D. to 1967 A.D = 1966
solar years= 1966 x 365.25 = 718,081.5 days. From Jan 1, 1967 A.D. to June 7, 1967 A.D. =
158 days. Total A.D. days then is 718,081.5 + 158 days is 718,239 rounded.
932400 - 718,239 = 214161 that are B.C. days.
To calculate B.C. year 214161 div 365.25 = 586.34 B.C.
There was no 0 year so from Jan 1, 1 A.D to Jan 1 B.C. = 1 year therefore 586 solar
years B.C. comes to 586 B.C.. To this we add .34 x 365.25 =124 days = May 4, 586 B.C..
What an amazing time prophecy indeed (see chart above).
In 1948 the Jews found themselves in a country fragmented. A few
hours after the proclamation of Israel's independence, the armies of Egypt, Jordon, Syria,
Lebanon and Iraq with Saudi-Arabian contingents crossed the frontiers of the new state,
determined to strangle it at birth.
After seven months of intermittent fighting, the Arab states signed armistice agreements
with the Israeli government, which now occupied more territory than originally assigned to
it by the United Nations.
May 17,1967 Nasser declared, "Egypt, with all its resources, human, economic, and
military, is ready to plunge into a total war that will be the end of Israel"
Egyptian artillery was bombarding Jewish villages along the Gaza Strip when general
fighting broke out on June 6. Israel tried to limit fighting by sending word to King
Hussein that Israel would respect Jordan's boundaries if she reciprocated. Hussein,
however, had already pledged loyalty to Egypt and began shelling Israel.
The Arab legion was driven out of Jerusalem and from the entire west bank of of the
Jordan, making the Jordan River the boundary between King Hussein's territory and that now
occupied by Israel.
At the end of the short war, Israel occupied territory formerly held by Egypt, including
the Gaza Strip and the entire Sinai peninsula, the entire west bank of the Jordan, and the
Golan Heights of Syria.
As we can see God has his hand with Israel and with Jerusalem. Israel began in 1948 but
would not obtain Jerusalem until June 7,1967 under circumstances Israel could not foresee
or plan out.
