Rise of Antichrist and his empire

| Daniel 2 tells us a great revelation about the image Daniel saw. how it foreshadows the empire of antichrist standing in the last days as a mighty defiant Goliath, only to fall to God's eternally prepared stone - Christ - the eternal Son of God. Looking at the table above, you see the modern names for what remains of these past world empires today. Daniel did not know the future names of the nations that Antichrist would dominate in the last days, but identified them by the world empires they were in the past. Daniel 2:28 specifically says this image is to teach us what shall happen in the last days - the rapture generation . Daniel 2:31 says this image was of an excellent brightness - in other word - the reality of what the image symbolized will be very evident in the last days after antichrist has come to power. Antichrist will dominate all of these land areas that made up these past empires. Daniel seven and Daniel eight tells how this will happen. Daniel 2 is telling us that even though these past world empires have come and gone in the past yet in the last days what remains of them will be resurrected and together they will be united as the final empire of man before Christ returns to set up his kingdom. The whole image standing in the days of Christ's return will definitely include Iraq, Iran, Greece, and nations in East and West Europe as well as other nations that were part of these past world empires. The maps below give you an idea of the direction of Antichrist's conquests (happens in timeframe 1 - ist chart above) and the size and importance of his empire during the rapture generation. | |

*Note: This fourth beast terrible, dreadful and exceedingly strong parallels the fourth metal of the image in Daniel 2 which would be the Roman empire. Great iron teeth parallels the iron in the image. The 10 horns parallels the 10 toes. The iron legs of the image of Daniel 2 showing the division of Roman Empire into East and West but is skipped over in the fourth beast of Daniel 7. The reason being the need to focus on the 10 horns and what happens among them which is not shown in Daniel 2 concerning the 10 toes. The number 10 (see 10 toes of Daniel 2) here is used as a round number (any number) and simply means the nations that would exist in the Roman empire area in the last days prior to and at the time Christ would return to establish the visible Kingdom of God. Both Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 did not see another kingdom following the Roman empire before God establishes His Kingdom. Daniel saw rather a resurrection of all these former empires (Babylonian, Persian, Grecian, Roman) into one monolithic super empire in the last days. How this is accomplished by the rise of antichrist is the subject of the remaining verses in Daniel 7. |
Daniel 7:8
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little
horn, before whom there were
three of the first
horns plucked up by the roots:
| 1: The fact that the 10 horns symbolize nations within the Old Roman Empire land area today (East and West Europe -see map and review above), the 'little horn' would clearly then be a small nation and that it comes up among/between the other nations(10 horns) - at least small at it's start. Daniel 7:8 says 'another little horn' meaning that some of the 10 horns Daniel first saw were also small. We know East and West Europe has several small nations. |
| 2: Since 'the little horn' appears as 'another little horn' while Daniel was considering the 10 horns means this small nation was created by circumstances different from those that created the 10 horns. The 10 horns of Daniel 7:8 like the 10 toes of Daniel 2 have their history and land evolving out of the the fall and division of the Roman Empire as we previously studied. If this was true of 'the little horn' then it would have been part of the 10 horns. Remember, the number 10 used symbolically is a round number. Daniel is simply saying whatever the number of nations symbolized by the 10 horns that have evolved from the Old Roman Empire land are included in the 10 horns (for review of this truth see Daniel 2). This little horn then, (an eleventh horn if you will) had to be brought forth among the 10 horns by unique circumstances not related to the previous history of the Roman empire land area. Yet, we are told this little horn comes out of the 4th beast - the Roman Empire land area. Confusing - I know - hold on. |
3: We are told that while Daniel was considering the 10 horns he saw new action as 'the little horn' came up/among/ the 10 horns. This means this small nation is a more modern nation arising among/between those nations symbolized by the first 10 horns (East and West Europe - see charts above) |
4: In the study
of same 'little horn' we read in Daniel 8:9 (see Daniel 8 page 2) that 'the little horn' extended his rule greatly to
the south, east, and toward the pleasant land (Israel). |
| 5: Habakkuk 1:6 (see
Daniel 7 page 3) says the
nation that produces the Antichrist will be a nation that was known in the past for it's 'bitterness and hastiness'. Habakkuk, like
Daniel starts out with the nation Antichrist will use and then ends up with all attention
on the man. Both Daniel (Dan 11:36-39)
and Habakkuk 1:11 says he will
honor his success to his god. Each prophet Had His own unique identifier name for
Antichrist: Daniel - 'the little horn'; Isaiah 'the Assyrian' (Isaiah 10);
Paul - 'the man of sin' ( 2 Thessolonians 2); John in Revelations - 'the beast' (Revelations
13). For Habakkuk - it was 'the
Chaldean'. Chaldeans were a warring people that eventually
took over Babylonia. Antichrist will do the same. He will make Modern Babylon part of his
empire (Daniel 2,). The World Book Multimedia
Enclopedia says that the Chaldeans dwelt in Babylonia and excelled in Astrology and study
of planets and stars. It is no wonder Daniel picked the Chaldeans as a type or picture of
what will be dominant in Antichrist's Empire. Antichrist will be a great builder of cities
and promotor of a world religion that embraces all religions and gods (see
timeframe 3 under
gentiles). What he does is magnify himself and his god above
the others and in the end only himself (Daniel
11:36). Habakkuk 1:6,11 6 For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs. 11 Then shall his mind change change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god. Daniel 11:38,39 38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. 39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain. |

Germany past from the
time of the Roman Empire to 1949 A.D. was
never considered a part of the Old Roman Empire area even though a 1/3 part of it's land
jutted down into it.

Daniel the prophet picks up the action of the latter days. This
would begin when Israel bcame a nation in 1948 A.D. Now in
Daniel 7:8
he is focusing on the gentile powers and the 10 horns (nations
of East and West Europe) beginning from
1948 A.D.. He now records some fulfilled prophecy that happened in
1949 A.D. regarding the creation of a small nation that Antichrist
will be born from. He calls it the little horn because it was a
small nation among larger ones. After World War II Germany was
divided into two states: the Federal Republic of Germany (West
Germany) and the German Democratic Republic (East Germany). West Germany created in 1949
was part in and outside the old Roman Empire area (see map
above) but it's capitol city
Bonn was inside. Though the part of West Germany inside was
small, yet, Daniel says 'the little horn' came out of the fourth beast (the Roman
Empire land area) and among/between the 10 horns (nations of East and West Europe within the Roman Empire land area - map
below). 'The little horn' (West Germany)
is then both a nation within and outside the Roman Empire area at the same time. The
creation of West Germany in 1949 with it's capitol in Bonn prophetically to me birthed 'the little horn' - that small nation of Daniel 7:8. East Germany was outside the old
Roman Empire area so it did not play a prophetic role at this time. Simply put -
Antichrist will be a man that was born in West Germany. To me, Daniel's 'little horn' of Daniel 7:8 - is that nation that will produce the Antichrist. I know what you are going to say. West Germany does not exist anymore because the Berlin Wall was torn down and East and West Germany united. I agree 100%. However, West Germany did exist as a small nation from 1949 - 1990 A.D. and fulfills all the prophetic requirements. What I am saying, is that Antichrist was born in West Germany during that window of time. We are now awaiting the person of Antichrist himself to appear. When this happens we move from the nation to the man. The man becomes more important not the nation anymore. However, Daniel by starting out with 'the little horn' is identifying the nation where he will come from - that is - born from. Do not look for 'the little horn' of Daniel 7:8 or Daniel 8:9 as a nation to appear - that part of prophecy has been fulfilled. Now, another important event happened after East and West Germany united. It's capitol of Bonn which was inside the Old Roman Empire land area was moved back to Berlin in 2000 A.D. This means Germany is no longer considered part of the Old Roman Empire land area because it's capitol is now outside that area just like it was through most of its history. Scripturally speaking, if Antichrist was born at any other time in German history (outside of when West Germany and its capitol as Bonn existing from 1949 to 1990 A.D.)) Antichrist would not be considered coming from the old Roman Empire land area and therefore not a Roman. But we know from scripture that Antichrist will be considered a Roman as told us in Daniel 9:26. Daniel clearly says that the future prince (Antichrist) will be from the people that destroyed Jerusalem and its temple after Christ was crucified (see Daniel 9). The time when Antichrist to appear is a time when Russia has taken back East Europe, splitting the EU, and challenging NATO (see Daniel page 4). This situation will put tremendous phycological, geopolitical, economic, military on Germany - the nation that is gateway to Western Civilization when the transgressors are at it's door. On top of all this everything else will be at a max - terroism, nations and terrorist's acquiring WMD's (weapons of mass destruction - chemicl, nuclear, biological), situation in Iraq, Iran, Middle East and a host of other trouble spots. Prophecy has much more to say how these events will play themselves out as we continue to study Daniel. Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. |
Roman Empire land area (the

For those who do gardening, one would pluck up a plant by its
roots when transplanting to a new location. The plant itself is not destroyed, only the
elements that hold that plant are removed. The message here, is that, Antichrist does not
destroy these 3 nations but destroys the aggressors or the forces that hold them hostage.
Antichrist uses whatever force it takes to transplant these 3 nations. He does not
physically move these nations from one geographic location to another, but makes them a
part of his dominion of protection rather than the aggressors without destroying them in
the process. The next question would be - what 3 nations could possibly fulfill Daniel 7:8 and by what pwer will he do
this?
What 3 nations meet the conditions to be the 3 horns of Daniel 7:8?
Before West Germany was created in 1949 Bulgaria, Hungary, Rumania were 3 nations
of East Europe that were captive countries besides others - taken over by Russia. It was
Winston Churchill in March 5th 1946 that said an 'iron
curtain' descended and enslaving millions in East Europe.
What makes these 3 nations unique from others is they geographically located within the
Old Roman Empire land area making them 3 of the 10 horns (see map above). However, with the collapse of the Soviet Union in1991 these nations
became independent again. Will they be become captive once again in the future? Are they
the key to Daniel telling us that Russia will go hard-line again in the early part of the
21st century by taking back East Europe to rebuild the Soviet Empire? As we study the
remainder of Daniel 7 and
Daniel
8, including what the prophet Habakkuk has to offer, the case is very strong that this
is exactly what is going to happen. This act will be the boldest move on Europe since post
W.W.2 ending the cold war fully. Why would Russia do this? Russia was once a world
superpower to be reckoned with until its collapse in 1991. Since then their economy and
armed forces have gone downhill and many have written off Russia as a collapsed superpower
not to rise again. But then along came Iraq and 9-11. Russia is now selling more oil than
ever to make up world market shortages, and revitalizing its military forces and nukes. It
sees the expansion of NATO a threat to its borders and EU as becoming a superpower. All
this against a backdrop of when USSR was a mighty superpower in its own right for most of
the second half of the 20th century. Today, Russia has a new leader - President Vladimir
Putin who is intent on restoring Russia to her former glory and presence, but in the
modern world of technology and business.

against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Daniel says that Antichrist will honor the God forces. Does this theme sound familiar - the force be with you (movie series - starwars). Antichrist's will honor the gods but exalt his god above all of them. He will also a universal God as forces (forces of good against evil, light against darkness). This is Satan's substitute for the God of the Bible - the eternal, omniscient, all powerful, all Holy Being of whom man was originally created in His image and likeness. This confirms the doctrine and spirit of Antichrist spoken in John 2:22 that will prevail greatly in the rapture generation by thos who deny the Godhead - the eternal relationship between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
