*** Antichrist and the rise of his empire (timeframe 1) *** |
Index Daniel 2 Daniel 7 Daniel 8 Daniel 9 Daniel 10 Daniel 11 Daniel 12 |
Daniel 8 Page 4
Daniel 8:9,10
9 And out of one of them came forth a little
horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the
pleasant land.
10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of
the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven;
The 'it' of Daniel 8:10 is Daniel clearly talking of 'the little horn' of Daniel 8:9 which we clearly identified as
Antichrist (see Daniel 8: page2, page 3).
So far, we saw that Antichrist a number of years before the rapture forms an empire that grew exceedingly large
toward the south, and toward the east, and towards Israel (see
map above). However, between Daniel 8:9 and Daniel 8:10
we move from pre-rapture to post-rapture. A study of Daniel 8:10 tells us the reaction of the angels in heaven to the size of Antichrist's
Empire and an amazing change that has taken place in Antichrist himself. Compared to
empires of the past - Antichrist's Empire has become so large that the host of heaven (angels that dwell in the heavens - outer space)
take notice. Both God's good angels and bad have been around since before the fall of man
in the garden of Eden. They have seen world empires come and go but Antichrist's Empire
really gets their attention. Satan's angels are rejoicing but God's angels are very
concerned for their destiny and future roles are interconnected with the successful future
establishment of the Kingdom of God upon the earth.
10 and it cast down some of the host
There is a profound change in
Antichrist because what is said of Antichrist called 'it' in verse 10.
What is said about 'it' in the
second part of verse 10 can only be applied to Antichrist if he were Satan also. We know the 'it'
of verse 9 (see Daniel 8 page 2) to be Antichrist before the rapture.
However the 'it' of verse 9 and the 'it' of verse 10
are the same Antichrist but yet very different. In verse 10 the word 'host'
still refers to the good and bad angels mentioned in verse 9 that marvel at the great growth of Antichrist 's empire. But verse 10 also says that some of these angels
were cast down to the ground (earth) by 'it' (Antichrist). This poses a problem of
interpretation because scripture does not say that Antichrist does this himself but
scripture clearly says in Rev 12:7-9 that Satan right after the rapture
is cast down to earth (ground)
and takes his angels with him.
Revelations 12:7-9
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and
his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which
deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out
with him.
If Antichrist were somehow to become Satan then what is said of 'it' (Antichrist) in verse 10
would be true. Does scripture tell us anywhere Antichrist will become Satan in the flesh
and if so - how?. The bible does have a clear answer. Daniel
8 is building right on what Daniel told us will occur when
Satan and his angels are cast down to the earth right after the rapture (see Daniel 7 page 5). So far
in our studies we saw that Antichrist who has formed his empire with the help of Satan and
his angels will reign for a period of time before the rapture
occurs. During his pre-rapture reign timeframe 1, timeframe 2, timeframe 3 will be fulfilled - see rapture
generation time chart below.
About the same time the rapture occurs Antichrist dies a mysterious death
followed by Satan and his angels being cast down to the earth
(see Daniel 7
page 5). Satan enters into Antichrist's body and brings him back to life by
incarnating him with his own life ( Rev 13:3,4). As God was manifest in the flesh in Jesus Christ (mystery of Godliness), after the rapture Satan is manifest in the flesh (mystery of iniquity).
Rev 13:3,4
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to
death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the
beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
Rev 12 tells the same story. After the rapture
of the true church (symbolized by the manchild as soon as it
was born being caught up to God's throne - Rev 12:5) we are then told in Rev 12:7-9 that Satan and his angels in
heaven fought with Michael and his angels in heaven and that Satan and his angels lost the
battle and were cast down to the earth.
Revelations 12:7-9
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and
his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which
deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out
with him.
In Rev 12:3
records Satan (dragon) in the
heavenlies ruling over Antichrist's Empire but Rev 13 records
Satan (dragon) now being on
earth ruling over Antichrist's Empire. Rev 13:4 says when
they worshipped the beast (Antichrist after the rapture) they also worshipped the dragon (Satan).
Revelations 12:3
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and
behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his
heads.
Revelations 13:1-4
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a
beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten
crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a
bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his
seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed:
and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the
beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
It is clear than that between Rev 12:3 and Rev
13 that Satan(dragon) has been cast down to the earth (Rev 12:7-9) and incarnated Antichrist and healed his deadly wound. When the world
worships the beast, Rev 13:4
says they worshipped the dragon(Satan) also. Before the rapture,
Antichrist will be a great builder of cities (time frame 3 ). One of the cities named in scripture
is the seaport city of Tyre on the coast of Lebanon. Antichrist will make this his
political capitol while Babylon will be his religious and commercial capitol. Ezekiel 28 addresses Antichrist as a man and
as Satan. These verses could apply to Antichrist after the rapture.
Ezekiel 28:1-3 Antichrist the man (prince of Tyrus (Tyre))
1 The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord God; Because thine
heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst
of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of
God:
3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:
Here Antichrist has magnified himself in his
heart to being a god and sits in the seat of God to show that he is God (see Daniel 11). Also Paul in 2 Thess 2:4 confirms this speaking of
Antichrist
2 Thess 2:4
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is
called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing
himself that he is God.
Ezekiel 28:11-13 Antichrist
is also Satan (king of Tyrus (Tyre))
11 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith
the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the
sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the
emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was
prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Only what is said in these verses could apply
to Satan. Satan has incarnated Antichrist and God is speaking to Satan dwelling in the
body of Antichrist. Satan is the King ruling the prince of Tyre - the man
Antichrist. A similiar situation happened back in the garden of Eden when the
serpent deceived Eve to get to Adam. Adam sinned by obeying Eve rather than God. God then
pronounced judgment upon Adam, Eve and the serpent. God cursed the serpent (Gen 3:14) and cursed him above all cattle and
beast of the field and that upon his belly he would go and dust he would eat.
14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast
done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy
belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it
shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
God speaks to Satan (Gen 3:15) who had indwelt the serpent just like Satan will indwell Antichrist
after the rapture. God said to Satan He would put
enmity (hatred) between Satan
and woman, and that one day there would be a woman who shall have seed within her that
would bruise the head of Satan's seed, but that Satan would bruise the heel of the seed of
the woman. The only woman in bible history to produce seed within herself is Mary - the
mother of Jesus. The man produces seed the woman produces the egg. 'Her seed' would have to be a miracle. Isaiah 7:14 also prophesized this miracle and
the fulfillment recorded in Luke 1:35.
Isaiah 7:14
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold,
a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Luke 1:35
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee,
and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which
shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
It is important to understand Genesis 3:15 because it also relates to Satan's seed - Antichrist. First we have 'Her seed' being the birth of Christ. In Genesis 3:15 we are told that Satan would
bruise the seed of the woman's heel. Jesus gave His life on Calvery's cross to save us
from our sins. The Romans nailed his hands and feet bruising His heels as they drove the
nails in against an old rugged cross made out of wood. Execution by the cross was a
Roman invention. The psalmist David (Psalm 22:16) foretold this long before the Romans came along and used this cruel and
agonizing method. David certainly was not speaking of himself.
Psalm 22:16
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly
of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
Since Jesus had no earthly father His blood was not tainted with sin passed
down through Adam's race. God was His father and because Jesus never sinned His blood was
the perfect sacrifice or atonement for our sins. When one believes and accepts what
Jesus did for him or her on that cross than a blood transfusion and a new birth takes
place within that persons spirit. It is written (Heb
9:22) that without the shedding of blood their is no
remission of sins
Hebrews 9:22
22 And almost all things are by the law
purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Faith in Christ's redemptive work will cleanse your soul from all sin and
God's Holy Spirit and your human spirit join together to create a new spirit - that is - a
new creature to take on the image and likeness of God.
2 Cor 5:17
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a
new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Gen 3:15 further
goes on to say that the promised seed would bruise the head
of Satan's seed. Is it possible that Antichrist will be
Satan's literal seed somehow. I say this, because immediately after the rapture Antichrist mysteriously dies and Satan
incarnates him and brings him back to life. Scripture says Antichrist will die of a head
wound (Revelations 13:3, 14).
God allows Antichrist the seed of Satan to die of a head wound. Is this a fulfillment of Genesis 3:15 'It
{Christ} shall bruse thy head'?
Genesis 3:15
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed
and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Revelations 13:3, 14
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were
wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the
beast.
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those
miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on
the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword,
and did live.
I find Gensis
3:15 one of the most powerful prophecies in scripture. As
soon as Adam and Eve sin God prophesizes events that only the birth and death of God's Son
Jesus Christ could have fulfilled. The bruising of Satans seed points to Christ's second
coming beginning with events connected with the rapture
that result in Satan being cast down to earth and Satan's seed - the Antichrist dying from
a mysterious head wound. Both Jesus and Antichrist come back to life after they are
bruised. God raised Jesus from the dead and Satan raises Antichrist from the dead. Amazing
embryo of prophecy showing that God is in complete control!
Satan and his angels cast down to earth.
Christians killed after the rapture by Antichrist
Daniel 8:9,10
9 And out of one of them came forth a little
horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the
pleasant land.
10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some
of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them
Between Daniel
8:9 and Daniel 8:10 the rapture had to have taken
place for the reasons mentioned above. Some of the host that were cast down to the ground
were Satan's angels whom Satan himself takes with him when he is cast down immediately
after the rapture (see
also Rev 12). After
Satan was cast down we studied above the verses in which Antichrist is now also Satan in
the flesh. We want to look at the second part of Daniel 8:10 to identify who the stars are that were cast down to the ground and
stamped upon.
10 and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and
stamped upon them.
We looked earlier at these passagese (Rev 12, Daniel
7 page 5, timeframe 4 page 1)
and saw that in Rev 12:7-9 Satan
and his angels were cast down to the earth (ground) immediately after the rapture. Rev 12:13,14 (see timeframe 4 page 1)
also told us that the woman (the professing church) was left behind after the rapture
on the earth and now flees from the beast's (Antichrist who
is now also Satan in the flesh) persecution. The beast
persecutes the woman for time, times, and a half a time (time=1
year), that is - 3 1/2 years total. Rev 13:5- 7 says the beast had power over the
saints for 42 months - again 3 1/2 years (see timeframe 4 page 2).
The 'stars' in verse 10 then are the saints while the host refers to the angels. Saints are symbolized by stars in several other scriptures. John the
Revelator is told to write to the angels of the 7 churches in Asia. The word 'angel' means messenger (see 7
churches, Revelations). The
pastors of these 7 churches were to give the message Christ gave John to their church.
Revelations 1:20
20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou
sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels
of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven
churches.
Daniel 12:2 (see Daniel 12)
talks of the time when the dead are raised to shine as stars forever and ever.
Daniel 12:2,3
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of
the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting
contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn
many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Antichrist as Satan in the flesh, does not stamp upon his angels even
though they are now all on the earth being cast down with him after the rapture. It is 'the
stars' that are stamped upon in verse
10. In Daniel 7
page 5 we studied that after the rapture the
saints were given into Antichrist's hands for 3 1/2 years. In Daniel 8 page 2 we studied that
after the rapture Daniel is told that Antichrist
destroys the holy people. In Rev 13 (see timeframe 4 page 2) Antichrist had
power to kill christians for 3 1/2 years. Finally, in Rev 12 (see timeframe 4 page 1) after Satan is
cast down he persecutes those that accept Christ after the rapture for 3 1/2 years.
Revelations 12:13,14
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast
unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the
wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time,
and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Revelations 13:5-7
5 And there was given unto him a mouth
speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his
tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power
was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
*Note: The consistency of scripture that the tribulation for the christians is
post-rapture and last 3 1/2 years. Daniel 7, Daniel 8, Rev 12, Rev 13 all agree to a time of 3 1/2 year post-rapture tribulation. Antichrist is
both a man and Satan in the flesh after the rapture.
Before the rapture there are 3 separate time
frames the world will go through under the reign of Antichrist (timeframe 1, timeframe 2, timeframe 3 -
see rapture generation chart above). Each time frame has its
own unique set of prophetic scriptures to be fulfilled.
Antichrist
after the rapture as Satan incarnate now exalts himself as God
Daniel 8:11-14
11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the
prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his
sanctuary was cast down.
12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and
it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which
spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice,
and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden
under foot?
14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary
be cleansed.
11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host,
Prince of the host is Satan. The host are
Satan's angels that help Antichrist to power. Antichrist before the rapture honored Satan in the heavenlies (outer space) as his god (see above, Daniel 7 page 3, Daniel
8 page 2, Daniel 8 page 3). After the rapture Antichrist is both the person of Antichrist
and Satan incarnate called the beast in Rev 13 (see above, timeframe 4 page 2). Antichrist now
begins to magnify himself even to being the prince of the host - this is- he is now
promoted to being god of this earth and that the god he honored in the heavenlies before
the rapture has been promoted somewhere else in
space. This makes perfect sense, in that before the rapture,
Antichrist was on earth and Satan as the prince and power of the air. After the rapture, having been cast down to earth and taking
over Antichrist's body whom he brings back to life, that he now would want himself to be
exalted on earth as the god of this world because he is on the earth (see above for scriptures of Antichrist becoming Satan in the flesh right
after the rapture).
One of the popular games young people like to play today is role playing. One gets so many
points and they are promoted to being a god with so much power as compared to someone
else. It is this kind of logic Satan will use to deceive the world into that we are all
gods in the making and life and death is a process of being promoted depending on your
deeds and the will of the 'God of forces' (Daniel 11:36).
Daniel 11:36
36 And the king shall do according to
his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak
marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be
accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any
god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall
he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge
and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the
land for gain.
11 and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his
sanctuary was cast down.
Daniel 9:27 tells us Antichrist will confirm
the covenant (God's covenant with Abraham but Antichrist is
now taking the place of God) with Israel for 7 years (see Daniel 9).
This 7 year treaty is after the rapture (see chart and rapture generation timechart above) but the sacrificial and temple priestly system will have already been
restored before the rapture in time frame 3 (see rapture generation timechart above). Daniel 9 tells us about halfway through this 7 year
treaty with Israel Antichrist will cause the sacrificial system to cease and he will
invade Israel. 2 Thess 2:4 says
that Antichrist will sit in the temple showing that he is God. I believe Antichrist will
sit on the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant that reappeared before the rapture (see time
frame 2).
Daniel 9:27
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for
one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to
cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the
consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
2 Thess 2:4
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that
is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is
God.
12 And an host was given him against the daily
sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it
practised, and prospered.
Dan 11:23 (see Daniel 11 page 2) tells us that the
host that is behind Antichrist is not all of Israel but a few he becomes strong with. He
most likely offers them a strong position in his empire if they go along with him.
Daniel 11:23
23 And after the league made with him he shall work
deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
13 Then I heard one saint
speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be
the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give
both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the
sanctuary be cleansed.
Daniel is told 2300 days will pass to
accomplish the (1) stopping of
the daily sacrifice (2) the
transgression of desolation - Antichrist empties the temple and puts an image of himself
to be worshipped as God (3)
brings the temple and sanctuary under gentile control. This will be all accomplished in 6
1/2 years (2300 days). This
would take place then during the 7 year treaty Antichrist makes with Israel. Then
Antichrist shows his true colors because he wants world domination and universal worship
and seeks to make Jerusalem the captiol of the world. Christ and the saints will return
and defeat him and his armies at the battle of Armageddon and Christ will establish the
long awaited eternal Kingdom of God on this earth (see Kingdom).
Daniel 8:19
19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what
shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
Daniel 2, 7, 8 have the same truth in common as verse 19. The events in these chapters are to show what shall happen at the end of
the age.
1 In the
third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel,
after that which appeared unto me at the first.
2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the
palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of
Ulai.
3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram
which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and
the higher came up last.
4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might
stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did
according to his will, and became great.
5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from
the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a
notable horn between his eyes.
6 And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had
seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.
7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was
moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and
brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram
to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there
was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was
broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the
south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it
cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily
sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and
it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which
spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression
of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary
be cleansed.
15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the
meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai,
which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was
afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the
time of the end shall be the vision.
18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep
on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the
indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.
21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes
is the first king.
22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out
of the nation, but not in his power.
23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a
king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall
stand up.
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy
wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy
people.
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall
magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up
against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut
thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.
27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the
king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.
